All the following Blood Sugar Balancing Nutrients are contained in the Total Health Pack

B Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6 act as coenzymes** participating in the complex process of glucose (blood sugar) conversion into energy. (**A coenzyme is a substance that works with an enzyme to initiate or aid the function of the enzyme).

Vitamin B1: can help improve how cells utilize glucose.

Vitamin B3: has been proven to protect the beta cells of the pancreas in newly diagnosed diabetic patients. By protecting these cells, vitamin B3 can sustain insulin production and help improve blood sugar control.

Vitamin B6: is involved in the energy cycle by activating the release of glycogen from the liver and muscles.  A deficiency is also strongly associated with glucose intolerance and reduced secretion of insulin and glucagon.

Biotin: The sulfur-containing B vitamin biotin is a critical part of glucokinase, the enzyme involved in the utilization of the sugar glucose.

The B vitamins are not stored in the body in any great quantity and therefore must be supplied daily.  Under stress, your need for B vitamins increases.

The B vitamins are depleted by alcohol and sugar.

Each Total Health Pack contains the entire family of B vitamins.

Vitamin C:  A lower concentration of vitamin C can leave the insulin-secreting beta cells of the pancreas open to oxidative damage and autoimmune attack. The right dosage of Vitamin C helps lower your blood sugar levels, in addition to reducing diabetes-related damage in your blood vessels.

A study published in the “Indian Journal of Medical Research,” reports that a daily vitamin C intake of 1,000 milligrams in people with type 2 diabetes resulted in significant reductions in blood sugar levels. However, study participants who received only 500 milligrams of vitamin C did not experience notable reductions in blood sugar, indicating that dosage is critical.

Most animals and plants are able to synthesize their own vitamin C. This is done through a biochemical pathway that depends on 4 key enzymes which convert glucose to vitamin C. In mammals, the glucose is extracted from stored sugar (glycogen) and the transformation into vitamin C is produced in the liver.

Humans lack the enzyme that is critical for the last step of vitamin C synthesis. Humans depend on outside sources of vitamin C found in supplementation as dietary sources are inadequate.

Each Total Health Pack contains 1,000 mg of vitamin C as calcium ascorbate with bioflavonoids.

Vitamin E: The benefits of vitamin E, the body’s premier fat-soluble antioxidant, includes improving glucose control and protecting blood vessels and nerves from free-radical damage, which is accelerated by the diabetic condition.

Studies have shown that doses of 400 IU of supplemental vitamin E (and higher) may even reverse damage to nerves caused by diabetes and protect against diabetic cataracts and atherosclerosis.

Each Total Health Pack contains 400 IU Vitamin E

MSM(methylsulfonylmethane): is a naturally occurring sulfur. Sulfur is a component of insulin, the protein hormone secreted by the pancreas that is essential to carbohydrate metabolism.

Lack of nutritional sulfur in the diet can result in low production of biologically active insulin. Studies indicate that MSM improves cellular glucose uptake by improving cell permeability, thus balancing blood sugar level and returning the pancreas to normal functioning.

Each Total Health Pack contains 1000 mg MSM

Magnesium: A study of 52,000 people showed that a higher intake of magnesium resulted in more balanced blood sugar.  Magnesium helps regulate blood sugar and maintain energy, alleviating the highs and lows experienced by fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

Magnesium enhances insulin secretion, facilitating sugar metabolism. Without magnesium insulin is not able to transfer glucose into cells.

Each Total Health Pack contains 65 mg Magnesium Citrate

Chromium:is a naturally occurring trace mineral that enhances insulin’s effect in the body, improving the uptake of glucose, causing better blood circulation and maintenance of blood sugar level.

Chromium also helps reduce cravings for sweets.

Most food today is very low in chromium, especially refined flour and refined sugars and sweets of all kinds, including even fruits.

Each Total Health Pack contains 35 mcg Chromium

Zinc: is a mineral that helps with the production of insulin.  It is also required to extend the action of the insulin molecule.  Without enough zinc, the insulin molecule degrades too quickly and must be replaced instead of being recycled and used again.

For this reason, a zinc deficiency, which is very common today, places significant added burden and strain on the pancreas and its insulin production mechanism.

Each Total Health Pack contains 5 mg Zinc Citrate

Manganese:  This is another vital trace mineral that, as with zinc, is needed for energy production in the cells. Almost everyone is deficient in this trace element, which is now refined out of most common foods such as wheat flour.

Each Total Health Pack contains 1 mg Manganese Citrate

Omega 3:There is increasing evidence suggesting that dietary omega-3, particularly the long-chain fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) found in marine oils, may improve insulin sensitivity or reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes.

Rodent studies have also shown that insulin resistance can be reversed by supplementation with fish oil.

Each Total Health Pack contains Wild Salmon Oil (EPA 180 mg DHA 120 mg).

Green Tea Extract: increases the insulin activity in cells by more than 15-fold—a dramatic effect by any standard. Enhanced insulin activity means better control over blood glucose (blood sugar) in people whose insulin function may be impaired and who are therefore at risk for type 2, or adult-onset, diabetes.

Anything that can enhance insulin activity is potentially of value in combating not only diabetes but also any prediabetic condition.

Each Total Health Pack contains 400 mg Green Tea Extract

Seven Blood Sugar Balancing Steps

1.  Eat breakfast within an hour of getting out of bed.  Food first (not coffee).  You will need a wholesome protein at breakfast like free range eggs, legumes combined with a whole grain, or nut butter with a whole grain product or low carb/high protein shake.  I recommend either our high quality Absolute Whey Isolate Protein or Raw Phyto Protein available through the online store at our website

2.  Don’t skip any meals, many people with low blood sugar feel better when they have a mid-morning snack that also includes protein such as nuts, seeds, or hemp.

3.  Eat fewer white flour food products (or eliminate them altogether) and ditch the refined sugars. They lead to a blood sugar roller coaster ride, cravings and can contribute to mood swings as well.

4. Eat enough throughout the day to match your activity level.  Snack after dinner if you must while you are balancing your blood sugar levels but once you are eating properly throughout the day you should not need to eat after dinner time.

5. Eat lots of veggies and stay hydrated with fresh filtered water.  Your body needs water for every single function it does. Water should be the first thing you consume upon waking.

6. Make sure you are getting all of your daily nutrients through your food and quality supplements.  The lack of even just one nutrient can cause cravings which usually ends in disaster.  We recommend at least one Total Health Pack per day.

7. Add chromium picolinate for additional blood sugar balancing.  Add L-Glutamine to conquer cravings. Both products are available from our online store at

Hi Brenda

Since my last email, my sugar levels have gone even lower without crashing like I always have. They started between 9 to 11 with meds and bad eating habits to 5.8 without meds (I forgot to take them) with way better eating habits and taking my supplements as directed by you. In a matter of 3 weeks. Thanks again for helping me. Doug R. Victoria, BC

The next report from Doug was 2 months later….

Hi Brenda

My sugar levels are now 4.9 to 6 every day consistently. I am feeling good and sleeping like a rock at night. (This appeared in the comment section of his order for 2 Total Health Packs and a bottle of Chromium).

Even if you have type 1 diabetes, you will find the above information useful for controlling your blood sugar with less insulin.

Dear Brenda

Just a quick update about my type 1 diabetes that I have had for 28 years now.  Since following your advice, my blood sugars have dropped from average of 12-16 to 4-6! Adjusted my insulin dosages dramatically as I take 4 shots a day. Wow, didn’t think it was possible. I AM DOING IT!!
