Plus Five Critical Steps To
Take At The First Sign Of A Cold or Flu

#1. Vitamin A

Vitamin A is necessary to maintain the mucous membranes of the respiratory passages that are barriers to circulating viruses.

Take 5,000 IU to 50,000 IU daily.

Note:  There is 5,000 IU of vitamin A in each Total Health Pack.

#2. B Complex Vitamins (include all 11 of the B family)

B vitamins are CRITICAL to restoring and maintaining optimal adrenal function. The adrenal glands should produce cortisol which regulates your immune responses.  Tired adrenal glands = lowered immune response.  That is why so many people get sick after a period of stress.

Take one B complex one to two times per day.

Note:  All 11 B complex vitamins are included in each Total Health Pack.

#3. Vitamin C (the only one I recommend is the buffered form called Calcium Ascorbate preferably with bioflavanoids)

Vitamin C stimulates the production of interferon (a virus killer).

Take 1,000 mg once or twice a day.

Note:  There is 900 mg of calcium ascorbate and 180 mg of bioflavanoids in each Total Health Pack.

#4. Vitamin D

Vitamin D can modulate the innate and adaptive immune responses. Deficiency in vitamin D is associated with increased autoimmunity as well as an increased susceptibility to infection.

If you are not already supplementing with extra vitamin D, you are likely deficient.

If you are taking the Total Health Pack, you are getting 500 IU of vitamin D in each pack.

Sunshine is the best source of Vitamin D and we don’t get enough in winter, so it is wise to take a bit extra.

Not only do you need vitamin D for strengthening your immune system, vitamin D is critical for bone strength, heart health, and cancer prevention.

Suggested vitamin D use in winter: Kids: 1,000 IU of vitamin D. Adults: take between 1,000 and 5,000 IU daily in the morning.  Don’t wait until you’re sick to take Vitamin D, begin supporting your immune system immediately.

NOTE: If you are taking a higher dose of Vitamin D (over 4,000 IU daily) I recommend also taking 1 Vitamin K2.  With higher doses of vitamin D, you absorb more calcium and the K2 helps direct it to your bones (otherwise the calcium can go to places where you don’t want it to be such as your aortic valve or your joints).

NOTE: For children who can’t swallow the capsules I have pure Vitamin D Drops which are absolutely flavourless and are in a Gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, vegetarian medium chain triglyceride base. They can be dropped on the tongue or added to food or beverages for easy patient compliance.

In my online store at I have both vitamin D capsules and vitamin D liquid that can be taken in addition to your Total Health Pack in the winter months.

#5. Vitamin E (d’alpha tocopherol not the synthetic dl-alpha tocopherol)

The nutrition almanac reports that Vitamin E helps promote body defenses against viral infections and in some cases may be utilized as a flu vaccine.  High doses may build both the serum and the cellular levels of the body to high levels of immunity against flu.

Take 400 IU to 800 IU per day.

Note:  There is 400 IU of d’alpha tocopherol vitamin E in each Total Health Pack.

#6. Zinc (citrate)

Zinc will aid in antibody production and also in the circulation of the “fighter” T-cells that are part of the immune system.

Take 5 to 50 mg of zinc citrate daily.

Note:  There is 5 mg of zinc citrate in each Total Health Pack.

#7 Green Tea Extract

The consumption of green tea extracts including catechins has been studied and the findings are that it enhances systemic immunity and helps prevent the occurrence of upper respiratory tract infection and influenza symptoms in healthy adults.

Note: Green Tea Extract (cathechin polyphenols) 400 mg
50% Total Tea Polyphenols, 30% Catechins

Five Critical Steps To Take
At The First Sign Of A Cold or Flu

#1.  Sleep as much as you can.  The more sleep you get the faster your body will heal.

#2.  Drink lots of water, at least 8-8 oz glasses in the day. The water will keep the mucus fluid, so your body can expel it.

#3.  Don’t touch a single granule of refined sugar (things like cookies, cake, candies, ice cream, pop, chocolate, alcohol, etc.) as sugar immediately depresses your immune system.

#4.  Avoid dairy products while you have a cold or flu, as dairy is a breeding ground for mucous and bacteria.

#5.  Do not take an antibiotic for a cold or flu.  Since both diseases are viral, antibiotics do nothing to conquer either (as antibiotics kill bacteria only, not viruses) – and as a matter of fact, antibiotics can actually be harmful. For example, by taking an antibiotic you may get a Candida overgrowth.
